New technologies are developing at high speed these days, and their development is unstoppable. One of the most influential technologies is the Internet penetrating into every aspect of people’s life and endangering their real-life social skills.

In my opinion, people really lose their real-life social abilities because of massive use of the Internet services. The evidence is everywhere. Firstly, when visiting a cafe or another public place, you can see a group of young people sitting together and staring into their smartphones. Instead of looking at each other and communicating, they are pushing the buttons and texting. The teenagers feel more comfortable to talk through social nets than in reality. Secondly, more people get their education online using special services. I consider it to be bad because immediate contact with your groupmates and teachers are lost in this case. To study and grow personally, it is important not only to get bare knowledge, but also to have close contacts to its bearers.

But there are people who believe that virtual Internet communication does not break any real-life social skills. They see the Internet as a copy of the reality. So, the virtual world is as rich in social interaction as the real one. People do not lose their skills, but they transfer them onto a new ground.

Nethertheless, I cannot agree with the foregoing statement, because there is no true transfer of skills. The virtual world has its own rules of communication and real-life social skills are not applicable here. They are put aside and, in the end, completely lost.

To sum it up, I want to emphasize the necessity of finding a balance between virtuality and reality, otherwise shifting to the virtual scene will inflict serious damage on people’s social life.

Hi, let me introduce myself..My name is Dinara. I’m a pupil of the 11th form. And I want to say that I’m a happy person and I wish other people will be happy too. I’ve chosen this theme for my presentation because nowadays there are so many people who are angry, unhappy and dissatisfied with their lives.

In my opinion, the life is given to us by the God, so we should love, respect, save and value it and accept the life as the present from the God.

I have found in the Internet so many good, right words about our wonderful life and I want to share with you.

So, I know I’m else so young girl and I mustn’t give the advices to other people how to live but I’m sure a lot of people share their opinions with me and they will agree with my advices how to improve person’s life.

So, we people, first of all should be positive in everything and even in the negative things find positive moments. Nowadays a lot of people complain about their lives, tell about their problems. But my grandma says to me that sometimes the problems are given for us to do us stronger and cleverer. I’ll never forget her words: “Never complain about your life saying it is bad because there are so many families that live worse than you. For example, in Africa many children can’t write and read because there are no schools there but you sometimes don’t want to go to school.. Even invalids, who haven’t hands or legs, are happy and love their lives. So, value it and be happy to have everything what you have today!”

Secondly, eating a tasty and healthy food is one of my main advices. My grandparents say that life today isn’t like it was before. People ate foods that were very good for their health, but these days everyone is busy and doesn’t want to cook his own food or people don’t want to spend a lot of time cooking. Therefore, people eat foods that contain little or no vitamins and minerals.

Furthermore, in order to improve our life we must to refuse from a bad habits such as smoking, drinking, eating fast food, even interrupting other people, quarrelling, nail biting and so on. For solving this problems we should develop a big will power, intention and high motivation.

Thirdly, sport is an important part of our life. It makes people more happy, healthy, keeps them feet and organized. We should walk more on foot breathing a fresh air, do morning exercises and sleep 7 or 8 hours at night. That’s why, Physical culture is one of my favourite subjects at school.

The next advice for improving person’s life is the self-education. To my mind, every person should learn something new every day for himself, should read more psychological books of outstanding and greatest people who reached a big aims in their lives.

Travelling abroad to different countries, visiting interesting famous places, meeting with a new people are also one of the ways of self-development. If some of you don’t have opportunities and can’t allow expensive trips themselves, you can just visit theatres, concerts, galleries, go to the cinemas and visit different entertainment centers.

But, unfortunately, even for these activities people say that have many reasons for not doing them: they don’t have much money or never can’t find time. I think if a man has a big will he can make his life better himself. As for me, I prefer colorful and exciting life to boring daily routines, negative thoughts and pessimistic mood.

Finally, my last advice to improve person’s life is to be KIND..kind to the family, to the friends, to the relatives, to an every day, to the nature, to the world.. Being kind allows us to love everything around, to communicate better, to respect other people, to be a positive force in people’s lives. We shouldn’t be kind for the sake of getting what we want, we should learn kindness from others, be optimistic, be a good listener, be friendly, polite, grateful, more smile, take an interest in people, love animals and the living world..

So, I think, we shouldn’t waste the time being angry with our relatives, parents, friends and so on. Life is one and short. My granny teaches me to be kind and says that nowadays there are so many people who don’t have “clean hearts and souls” and they do our world “dirty”, but we, kind people, should do everything what depends from us to bring the love and the light to this wonderful world.

Virtual Internet communication results in losing real-life social skills

Internet today has become so much popular, that every pupil knows how to use it. We can order food, buy and sell clothes, transfer money, find the direction and many other things. People can even work in internet staying at home and get good money. And of course we can find friends here and communicate with them any moment.

Unfortunately the more time we stay online the less we use our social skills in real life. Instead of going out together with our friends and enjoy a real talk, we choose communication online. We can not see the face of our companion, we use virtual smiles instead of a real smile. Virtual communication is very limited, there is no soul here, I would say.

From other side, people can talk online when they can not talk face to face. Any time, from any country I can call my friends or family. We can still share any information, support each other, make video calls and send the pictures. The world is developing today and we have to follow. It’s also a good possibility to save time. If you need to send some message it’s easier to do with internet and virtual communication.

Well I definitely choose communication alive, to see the eyes of my friends, to joke with them, to see their emotions and mood at this very moment. It’s also better to understand each other, because a person is in front of you and you can see if he is happy, sad, busy or boring. I hope in future internet will not take all our life under control and we will still be able to spend time together. People always need support and it’s very important not only see this support in messages, but also to feel in reality.

The aim of this report is to suggest ways of improving the flats, in a house I stay during my studying, in order to encourage more young people to live there.

Every year for about 5000 new students came studding in our university. Therefore, it would be appropriate to make repairs, namely that attracts a large number of applicants to enter to it in our university.

Some of the furniture should also be improved. Firstly, I would strongly recommend changing beds in our rooms, owing to that more students will attracts more friends to live there .Secondly, more modern appliances, such as a washing machine and a cooker will relieve students, who do not have to go to the laundry room and wait for their turn to cook food. Lastly, it would be a good idea to build a sport ground near our house; this will attracts to become a lover of healthy lifestyle.

Unfortunately, our courtyard is narrow, full of litter and old-broken cars. Therefore, the cars should be towed away, the litter will be collected. Another suggestion would be to put asphalt on road, consequently students do not have to circumvent, go around the mud and puddles.

All in all, I strongly believe that new improvement would encourage people to live there. These changes would definitely made flats more comfortable and spacious.

There is a several shortage of modern classes you can do, for instance you will have fun visiting volleyball course or can test your knowledge in special quiz, nevertheless, in my opinion, and this is not enough for so large centre.

Some of the changes should also be done. Firstly, as I said, it would be a good idea to open some new courses, which are popular with young people, such as basketball, dancing and football. Secondly, visitors need more rest rooms with showers, in which people can take a shower after training. Lastly, I would strongly recommend refreshing your advert, as community centre will offer new activities and provide fresh information about events in the area, which people can see and became wanted to visit.

Unfortunately, some facilities need to be replaced. In particular, there is a lot of graffiti on clothes cupboards, dirty floors on gyms. The cupboard should be changed, floors swept .Another suggestion would be to make a discount card, especially for students, owing to the discount more visitors would join in your centre.

All in all, I feel that new courses, rest rooms would make the centre more popular with young people. That would definitely make the centre more pleasant for people of all ages.

1 Read the extracts (A-C). Which of them is/are from a report? What helped you decide? Read the theory box and check.

Reports making suggestions/
recommendations are normally written for someone in authority e.g. an employer, a teacher etc. They normally contain some description of something e.g. what it’s like in your area and then present suggestions/recommendations about future actions e.g. improvements to something.

Reports usually consist of:

•   information regarding who the report is to and from, what its subject is and the date it was written in the top left-hand corner.
•   a short introduction mentioning the purpose and content of the report. (This report was carried out to comment on…. As requested, this report is to comment on….)
•   a main body divided into sections, each with an appropriate heading. Short sentences should be used to make the information easy to understand and ideas should be linked with appropriate linking words/phrases.
•   a conclusion in which you may summarise the main pionts, give a personal opinion and/or include a referentes to future action.

Reports contain factual information and are written in a formal style (advanced vocfbulary, factyal, impersonal language, fill verb forms, passive voice, formal linking words/phrases ets), usually using present tenses.

The aim of this report is to suggest ways of improving the Newtown area in order to encourage more young people to live there.

There is a severe shortage of modem, comfortable housing in the area. Therefore, it would be appropriate to build some new apartment blocks to cater for young professionals and maybe a new housing estate for families. Space for this housing could be found by demolishing existing run-down buildings.

Some of the facilities in the area should also be improved. Firstly, I would strongly suggest that the council spend more money on the public transport network, so that people can commute easily to work. Secondly, more public facilities are needed, in particular a well-stocked library and a community centre offering activities and providing information about events in the area. In addition, some of the funding could also be used to create new playgrounds for children. Doing this would help to attract families to the area.

Unfortunately, our area has become quite run-down in recent years. In particular, there is a lot of graffiti on the walls and the streets are full of old broken-down cars and litter. Another suggestion would be for trees and flowers to be planted along the footpaths in order to make the streets more attractive.

All in all, I feel that new housing, better public transport, more public facilities, new parks and a cleaner environment would make good use of the government funding. They would definitely make living in Newtown more attractive to young professionals and families.

I am writing this letter to express my dissatisfaction with the Economics course which I recently joined at St. Jude College. I joined this course with great interest and expectation, but it’s not engaging me since the classes are irregular.
I compared offerings from many other colleges, and finally, I decided to pursue the Economics course in your institute. Even though this college is far away from my home, I choose this college as I got the scholarship.
I travel a long distance to attend the classes. But it’s not conducted regularly. Either they are postponed or canceled for some reason.
I have few suggestions to improve the situation. Consider announcing the change in schedule to students beforehand. Also, for the classes canceled, provide compensation classes during the same week. Otherwise, the staff tends to rush on the topic to complete it few days before exams, from students perspective it is quite hard to prepare for the exam.
I hope you agree with my suggestion and consider taking the necessary action to improve the situation.

В этой статье предлагаю еще раз внимательно ознакомиться с типами заданий устной части ЕГЭ 2022 по английскому языку, так как в этом году формат заданий устной части существенно изменился. Экзамен по устной части проходит в отдельно отведенный для этого день, как правило, после письменной части.

Инструкция по выполнению заданий
Устная часть КИМ ЕГЭ по английскому языку включает в себя 4 задания.
Задание 1 – чтение вслух небольшого текста научно-популярного характера. Время на подготовку – 1,5 минуты. Максимальное количество баллов — 1.

В задании 2 предлагается ознакомиться с рекламным объявлением и задать четыре вопроса на основе ключевых слов. Время на подготовку – 1,5 минуты. Максимальное количество баллов — 4.
В задании 3 предлагается дать интервью на актуальную тему, развёрнуто ответив на пять вопросов. Максимальное количество баллов — 5.
В задании 4 предлагается проблемная тема для проектной работы и 2 фотографии, выбор которых в качестве иллюстраций надо обосновать, и нужно выразить своё мнение по проблеме проектной работы. Время на подготовку — 2,5 минуты. Максимальное количество баллов — 10.

Общее максимальное количество баллов по устной части — 20 баллов.

Общее время ответа одного экзаменуемого (включая время на подготовку) – 17 минут.
Каждое последующее задание выдаётся после окончания выполнения предыдущего задания. Всё время ответа ведётся аудио- и видеозапись.

К моему большому сожалению (но, думаю, не только я одна удручена таким состоянием дел!) наши уважаемые сотрудники ФИПИ не позаботились о том, чтобы разместить в открытый доступ как можно больше тренировочных вариантов для учащихся и учителей, которые готовят студентов к сдаче такого важного в их жизни испытания. Но зато очень быстро было издано пособие под редакцией М.В. Вербицкой (с явно коммерческими целями обогащения за счет бедных учеников и учителей! Ай-ай-ай, как не стыдно!!! 😡) «ЕГЭ Английский язык Типовые экзаменационные варианты Новая модель КИМ ЕГЭ 20 вариантов». Ну, что ж, будем разбирать сегодня один из вариантов этого пособия.

Сразу хочу обратить ваше внимание, что в данной статье будут представлены примерные образцы выполнения заданий 1 — 4 устной части ЕГЭ 2022, поэтому Вы можете их усовершенствовать (упростить или усилить) согласно своим предпочтениям.

Предупреждение! Во время подготовки к сдаче экзамена по устной части у учащихся не будет возможности делать какие-либо записи своих ответов на черновик! Тестируется навык спонтанной речи.

Итак, ВАРИАНТ 9 (по материалам сборника М.В. Вербицкой)

Task 1. Imagine that you are preparing a project with your friend. You have found some interesting material for the presentation and you want to read this text to your friend. You have 1.5 minutes to read the text silently, then be ready to read it out aloud. You will not have more than 1.5 minutes to read it.

Canada’s original inhabitants are Indians. The very name Canada comes from a word meaning “village” in one of the local languages of Indian tribes. These tribes lived on the territory of modern Canada before the first Europeans arrived in the 11^th century. They soon left, but more Europeans came in the 16^th century and were made welcome because they brought manufactured goods and traded them for furs and other native products. However, the Europeans settled down and gradually displaced Indians over the next 250 years. European settlers came in a series of waves. First were the French, followed by the English, and these two groups are considered the founding nations. France lost its part of the territory to Britain in a war in 1760, but most of the French-speaking colonists remained. Their effort to preserve their language and culture is still an issue of Canadian history and has led in recent years to a movement to become independent from the rest of Canada.
